Calling all innovative, social, and outgoing freshmen!

For all inquisitive, dynamic, well-networked and creative Jewish students looking for a new way to create new, innovative, campus-based Jewish activities for you and your friends--this is the internship for you!

The Jewish Renaissance Project (JRP) has a paid internship called the Campus Entrepreneurs Initiative internship!

Qualified applicants are uninvolved in organized Jewish life at Penn, are in-coming sophomore members of a fraternity or sorority, are excited about creating Jewish communities for their friends, and are looking to gain skills to use in future jobs and internships.

Be a part of a team of 15 extraordinary students charged with transforming student life.

As an intern, you will be responsible for advancing Jewish outreach on campus by creating innovative initiatives that are meant to engage otherwise uninvolved Jewish students at Penn. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Attending weekly 2-hour sessions with the rest of the interns. Sessions include leadership development, exploring Jewish values and traditions, and high-profile guest speakers from Penn and Philadelphia
  • Attend bi-weekly small group meetings
  • Building new relationships and strengthen old ones
  • Creating new Jewish and/or Israel-related communities on campus
  • Attending a national training seminar/leadership institute with hundreds of students from across the country at Washington University in St. Louis, prior to the start of the internship, August 8-12, 2012 (all expenses paid)
  • Being outgoing, approachable, and very social (Jewish Shmoozing!)
  • Traveling to Israel on Penn's Taglit-Birthright Israel trip over winter break

Some past initiatives by Penn students include:

  • Social Entrepreneurial Network (the SEN initiative): A CEI Intern created this club, which brings social entrepreneurs who are extremely successful professionals (such as Edgar Bronfman) to campus to meet and mingle with students.
  • Moral Voices: Another CEI Intern helped create a Penn branch of Moral Voices, a group that spreads awareness about social justice issues on campus (this year focused on human trafficking)
  • Jewish Food Critique (JFC): CEI Interns buy Jewish food (bagels, lox, etc.) with part of their stipends from delis all over Philadelphia for a student-led contest
  • Shabbat dinners around campus: Hosting Shabbat dinners and discussions for their friends, some interns made celebrating Shabbat something fun and easy to do

And much more!

This is your chance to be creative and have fun while meeting fellow interns who will become some of your closest friends!

Compensation:
* Intern stipend of up to $800, payment performance based
* Generous program budget to take friends to coffee and build initiatives

Meet the 2011-2012 CEI Interns!!!
