in partnership with Repair the World and JRP
adjust action is a BRAND NEW, year-long fellowship for Penn students interested in delving into Tzedek (social justice) issues through direct service, Jewish (and non-Jewish) learning and discussion, and hearing from inspiring members of the Penn and Philadelphia communities.
|
As an adjust action fellow, you will be a member of small, meaningful micro-community with other students who share a passion for or an interest in learning more about social justice. If you’re looking for a way to combine your Judaism and Jewish identity with your interest in repairing the world, then adjust action is for you!
All fellows have the opportunity to:
- Create and implement a new social justice initiative
- Explore the connections between Judaism and social justice
- Learn about social issues in Philadelphia from local leaders
- Build skills for effective community engagement and leadership
- Learn about and develop their own leadership style
- Participate in a national Repair the World Conference with other students from around the country
All fellows are expected to:
- Be an active member of the fellowship from January to December 2012
- Attend and participate in weekly meetings (Mondays from 7:30-9pm) beginning in January 2012
- Participate in smaller group meetings every other week beginning in the Fall of 2012
- Come with an open mind and a thirst for learning about social justice issues
- Engage your friends through your new social justice initiative
