Andrew Abrams is a sophomore from Mount Laurel, New Jersey majoring in Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Growing up in suburbia America, Andrew appreciates living in a great city like Philadelphia (though he is a Yankees and Giants fan) and attending a high energy school like Upenn. Andrew is involved on campus as a Management 100 TA and a member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. When not being productive, Andrew can be found watching the same episode of Sportscenter on repeat and trying various quizzes on Sporcle.com. He is now extremely excited to make his mark on Penn’s Jewish community along with his fellow CEI Interns.
Sam Breuer is a sophomore from Washington D.C. Unlike most people who say they are from the city, he actually is and thus does not live in a state. He plans to major in political science, and hopes to minor in economics. Sam has played baseball his entire life and is a member of the Penn club team. As an avid Redskins fan, Sam enjoyed watching the Skins beat the Eagles at the Linc last season. He is a member of Phi Delta Theta and is excited for his sophomore year as a CEI intern.
Hayley Brooks is a sophomore in the College hailing from sunny South Florida. Like all South Floridians, she enjoys pina coladas and long walks on the beach. Yes, she’s freezing. At Penn, Hayley is involved with The Daily Pennsylvanian and The Pennsylvania Punchbowl Magazine. The Punchbowl’s kinda like The Onion, except that its funnier for people that go to Penn and irrelevant for people that don’t go to Penn. She reps Alpha Chi Omega this year, religiously follows underthebutton.com, and still has her torah portion from her Bat Mitzvah memorized.
Todd Duboff is a sophomore in the College, majoring in Political Science and minoring in Modern Middle Eastern Studies and hopefully Legal Studies and History. Hailing from Los Angeles, he has a major passion for movies and still considers anything below 70 degrees cold. On campus, in addition to CEI, he is a member of Sigma Alpha Mu and works as a design editor at the Daily Pennsylvanian, and hopes to share his Penn love next year by fulfilling his dream of becoming a tour guide.
Max Federman is a sophomore in Wharton from Nichols Hills, OK. He hopes to create his own concentration. He is a brother at Tau Epsilon Phi. Natasha Gabbay is a sophomore in the College from Westport, CT (yes, there are a few Jews in Connecticut). She is hoping to pursue a major in History and minor in Spanish. On campus, Natasha is a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority and the International Affairs Association. In her free time she loves traveling, doing community service and reading nerdy historical fiction books. Natasha is very excited about being a part of the CEI program this year!

Emily Hantverk is a sophmore in the College of Arts and Sciences from Long Island, New York (how original!). She is majoring in PPE with a minor in Spanish. On campus, Emily looks forward to spending time with her "little sister" in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program every week. If you're ever looking for her, your best bet is to try the basement of Van Pelt (more specifically in Mark's cafe, stocking up on caffeine). Representing the Alpha Phi sorority, Emily is so excited to be a part of CEI!
Jacob Himeles is a sophomore in the College from Ridgewood, NJ. He went to high school in NYC, where he took some serious abuse for being from New Jersey (we all know that’s highly uncalled for). He plans to major in Economics and double minor in Spanish and Math. Outside the classroom, he enjoys listening to Dave Matthews Band, playing basketball, rooting for the Baltimore Ravens, and going to Bethany Beach, DE. An active member of Zeta Beta Tau, Jacob is eager to contribute to CEI this year.
Robbie Horwitz is a sophomore in the Engineering School from Chappaqua, NY. He is currently majoring in Computer Science. He is a member of Alpha Epsilon Pi, runs a tutoring company called Turning Point Tutoring, serves on the Innovation Fund of the Weiss Tech House, and is the treasurer of CommuniTech. Robbie is thrilled to get involved with the CEI program.
Aly Ketover is a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences and comes from Minnetonka, Minnesota (like the moccasins). She is considering a major in Psychology with a minor in Hispanic Studies but feels that in true Penn fashion this may be subject to change. On campus, Aly is a member of Sigma Delta Tau sorority, a tour guide for the admissions office, and a tutor through the Penntoring program in Kite and Key. She is really looking forward to continuing her involvement with Jewish life through CEI.
Danielle Plattus is a sophomore in Wharton. Coming from suburban Westchester, NY, she loves the dynamic Philly environment and enjoys exploring new restaurants with friends. On campus, she is a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and recently joined the Wharton Communication Advisory Board.
Danielle is extremely excited to be a part of CEI this year!
Benjamin Ross is a sophomore in the College and plans on majoring in Economic History. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Benjamin is a die-hard Steelers and Penguins fan, in addition to being an avid squash player. His favorite contribution to the Jewish community was leading TempleSinai, his synagogue, to an unprecedented 3 Synagogue Basketball League Championships in 4 years. On campus, Benjamin is a member of the Theos Fraternity and is very excited to take a more active role in Judaism at Penn through CEI.
Rebecca Schwartz is a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences from New York City. She is undecided about her major, but is considering Political Science or Communication. At Penn, Rebecca is an ambassador with the admissions office and a member of the Sigma Delta Tau sorority. She is excited about participating in the CEI program.
Ben Slocum is a sophomore planning to major in International Relations and Economics with a minor in Spanish. He grew up as a nice Jewish boy on the Main Line in Bryn Mawr, PA. At Penn he is a member of Pi Kappa Phi, a PennQuest leader, and a CSSP mentor. Despite his busy schedule, he loves to kick back and relax watching The Office or Modern Family. Ben is extremely excited to be a CEI intern next year!
Garrett Zwahlen is a Sophomore in the M&T program studying Finance and Mechanical Engineering. He's a good ol' American boy, born in Texas and raised in Oklahoma City. When he's not pretending to study, Garrett teaches 6th grade Sunday School at Temple Rodeph Shalom and fraternizes as the social chair of Beta Theta Pi. He is very excited to be able to crack into Penn's Jewish community in a more social way.
