Jewish Renaissance Project

Meet the 2010-2011 Jewish Life Liaisons!

Samantha Lieberman

Samantha Lieberman is from Westport, CT and is a Sophomore in the College. She enjoys cooking and baking and watches the Food Network like its 's her job. She is also an avid hiker. While she is undecided as to her major thus far, she loves the environment and is
also an active member of Penn Eco-Reps. In the future, Sam hopes to have her own show on the Food Network and Hike the AT. Although far-fetched, shooting for the stars can't hurt!

Becki Steinberg

Becki, a sophomore in the College, grew up in the Boston area and now lives in Avon, Connecticut. Having gone to a Jewish day school for part of her life, one of the things she loves most about Penn is its Jewish community-- she tries not to miss Friday night services with her friends, and this summer she went on Penn Birthright, where she absolutely fell in love with Israel! At Penn, Becki is studying Communications & Public Service, Creative Writing and Spanish. When not in class, Becki writes for the Daily Pennsylvanian as a beat reporter and is a tour guide for Kite & Key. She loves frozen yogurt, books, the beach, and tennis. Becki is so excited to be a JLL this year and can't wait to get started!

 Zachary Kriegel

Zach Kriegel is a sophomore hailing from Sharon, Massachusetts. He is an avid Boston sports fan--the Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots--and also enjoys playing many sports. At Penn, Zach is a proud member of the Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity, and is also a treasurer for the Penn Israel Coalition. He’s looking forward to making new friends and connections through JRP.

Naomi Fujiki

Naomi Fujiki was born and raised in Kailua, Hawaii. Currently she is a student at the College of Arts and Sciences and is thinking of majoring in History and Political Science. There she participates in a student group called Penn For Youth Debate where she volunteers to coach a high school debate team in Center City, and is Curriculum Director on the group’s board. She is also a member of Sigma Delta Tau Sorority. Every summer she works as a counselor at URJ Camp Newman-Swig in California, where she is responsible for a cabin of approximately thirteen 10th and 11th grade kids, and organizes cabin-bonding activities, as well as plans programs to teach campers more about Judaism. Naomi enjoys playing soccer, surfing, shopping, and reading.

Lori Weil

Lori is from Nashville, Tennessee and is a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences. She is a member of the Kite and Key Society and the Sigma Delta Tau sorority. Lori loves traveling, reading, baking and eating chocolate! She is excited to be a JLL and have the opportunity to further explore Jewish life at Penn and meet new people.

Arielle Bokhour

Arielle Bokhour from Great Neck, New York is a sophomore who has yet to decide what she is majoring in, but plans on figuring that out soon. During her free time she enjoys playing basketball and tennis, painting, doing community service, and traveling. As an Iranian Jew she is a huge fan of the Persian cuisine and misses it terribly when away from home. At Penn, she is a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority and the healthcare fraternity Alpha Iota Gamma. She is also an avid member of West Philly Tutoring and helps plan the amazing "Fests" through SPEC Special Events. Arielle is looking forward to working with the other JLLs to plan an exciting year for the Class of 2014.
